Engine mounts are essentially shock absorbers that prevent your engine from bumping into the transmission and other components that keep your vehicle running. They have a metal frame that provides sturdy support and protection. They also have a rubber component that dampens vibrations and prevents metal-to-metal contact between your engine and the vehicle body. While engine mounts don’t require maintenance work or regular servicing, you still have to look out for signs of wear or damage. Signs of wear start to show within 5 to 7 years.
